In 2021, Therme Art collaborated with Manchester International Festival (MIF) to create a local school engagement programme aimed at providing a platform for discussing mental health and wellbeing in the wake of a challenging year defined by the global pandemic. As part of this initiative, Therme Art commissioned Berlin-based Danish artist Jeppe Hein to design a participatory workshop for local students and teachers. This collaboration led to the creation of Today I Feel Like… and its inaugural edition being brought to life across Greater Manchester.
From 4–17 June 2021, workshops were held across 13 local schools involving 988 students. Following the activity, the postcards were returned to MIF and Therme Art, and were displayed at Festival Square from 9–11 July 2021. The full archive of paintings is now available to be viewed online

We loved the simplicity of the workshop that was so inclusive enabling all children from nursery to year 6 to feel part of something so special. It was also quite a profound experience and something that I am going utilise further. I do many assemblies that start with a meditation or wellbeing exercise and have never been brave enough to use art as a conduit for whole school assemblies.
